Join the Friends of Rutherfurd Hall: Volunteer and keep up to date by attending Friends meetings and events. Friends meetings are held the first Thursday of each month at 7pm in Rutherfurd Hall. The Friends are both a programming and a fundraising group, volunteers help in a variety of ways to best suit their interests! $10 annual membership dues. To learn more click here.
Join the Allamuchy Township Education Foundation: Members work on projects linked to Rutherfurd Hall and community based education programs. The Foundation meets on the first Wednesday of each month at the Allamuchy Township School (7pm) and serves as a fiscal sponsor and fundraising arm of the Hall. No membership fee. Learn more here.
Become a Docent: Email or call us to let us know that you are interested in volunteering at the site during events or open hours. We are developing a guide/docent program for our open hours. If you have a couple of hours to give per week, and love being in this historic building, this may be the right fit.
Assist with our Research Projects: If you love local history, or a good research assignment for exploration during your down time, this is a great fit for you. Staff of Rutherfurd Hall will generate a research question and volunteers will develop. Projects will include research at the NY Historical Society, the NJ Historical Society, Colombia University library holdings, and onsite with existing resources.
Pick a Wish List Item: Find a donor or business and start cultivating them to give us one of our wish list items. You will be fundraising and volunteering at the same time.
Attend our Programs! Just by being a frequent participant at Rutherfurd Hall you can assist us in our mission. Audience matters and each event that is well attended bring better chances for grants and more programs. Please plan social events and dinner parties, and kid or grandchild activities around our events calendar! The more people visit, the stronger we grow!
